Frequently asked questions

Q. How long will it take for me to see results?

Even though my approach is aimed at correcting imbalances using diet, exercise, and supplements, most people see some results in the way they feel very soon after making the recommended changes. Pain relief, decreased bloating, clearer skin, weight loss (or in some cases weight gain), less fatigue and improved stamina are all signs that your body is responding positively to the various therapies we employ.

Q. Will I have to give up my favorite foods?

There will likely be recommendations to temporarily eliminate a certain food or class of foods in order to allow your body to heal and come back into balance.

Q. How often will we meet?

We can meet as often as you need, so that you feel comfortable with the changes that you are making in your diet and lifestyle.  When you purchase one of my plans, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.

Q. Will this be covered by insurance or my Flexible Spending Account

I do not submit insurance claims for my services as a Nutritional Therapist or a Physical Therapist. Many insurance plans contain benefits for both PT and Nutritional counseling and I can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance plan or FSA account.

Q. Do I need a referral from my doctor to come and see you?

No, you do not need a referral. However, I encourage you to notify your physician of your intent to work with a Nutritional Therapist and PT. Note: many insurance companies want proof that your physician has requested either PT or Nutrition services in order to reimburse you for your expenses.

Q. How long are the sessions and where do we meet?

All sessions will take place remotely via zoom or on the phone.  Our initial evaluation will last approximately 1-1/2 hours. Follow-up sessions will last approximately 50 minutes.

Q. How will I know if this is a good fit for me?

I offer a free initial discussion with all new clients. This is an opportunity for us to meet and discuss your individual situation and your goals for therapy. As a result of this meeting , I will create a preliminary plan for our future work together.

Q. Why do you use lab tests?

Using specific lab tests will help us determine where the blockages are that are preventing you from healing. Whether we are looking at food sensitivities, the state of your digestive system or hormonal imbalances, the right tests will allow us to create an individualized healing protocol that will get to your goals.

Q. What do I need to do to get started?

Contact me here to set up a time for a free, no obligation, initial discussion.  You can send me a message from my contact page, email me at ginny@mainenutritherapy.com, or give me a call (207) 329-0876.  I look forward to talking with you!!
